Este tema, apesar de fazer parte da banda sonora do filme Pulp Fiction, não me faz lembrar propriamente o filme, mas sim algo completamente diferente. Lembra-me o Antigo Egipto e toda a sua cultura, o deserto e claro, as pirâmides e todos aqueles monumentos incríveis, sem esquecer os Faraós. A música consegue transportar-me para lá de cada vez que a ouço… Já ouvi a versão do filme várias vezes e confesso que não é uma das minhas preferidas, no que respeita a bandas sonoras. No entanto, gosto bastante desta versão, provavelmente porque tem arranjos diferentes.
Although this song is part of Pulp Fiction soundtrack, it doesn’t remind me of the film at all. Instead it reminds me of something competely different: Ancient Egypt, its culture, the desert and of course the pyramids and those incredible monument and the Pharaohs.The music takes me there everytime I listen to it… I’ve heard the film version several times and I confess it’s not one of my favourites when it comes to soundtracks. However, I really enjoy this version, probably because it has different musical arrangements.
Este é outro tema que não conhecia até ouvir o CD, por isso não sabia bem o que esperar. Ao ouvir com atenção senti, de certa forma, uma ligação quase imediata com a música. O que eu estava a ouvir, mesmo sem saber a letra da versão original, tinha um significado muito pessoal, como se esta estivesse a expressar o que eu senti tanta vez. Não percebi bem porque é que isto aconteceu mas fiquei com curiosidade e procurei a letra. As palavras muitas vezes não conseguem expressar tudo quanto sentimos e, apesar das palavras da versão original expressarem uma parte, o que não pode ser dito foi transmitido por esta versão de David. Há coisas que apenas se sentem…
This is another song I didn’t know until I hear it on the CD and for that reason I didn’t know what to expect. When I listened to it, I felt, in a way, an immediate connection with the music. What I was listening, even without knowing the lyrics of the original version, had a very personal meaning, as if it was expressing what I’ve felt so often. I didn’t understand why that happened and it made me curious so I went to look for the lyrics. Sometimes words can’t express everything we feel and although the words of the original version express part of it, what can’t be said was transmitted by David’s version. There are things that can only be felt…
Welcome to the Jungle (Bonus Track Deluxe Edition)
Quando tinha cerca de 12 ou 13 anos lembro-me que gostava bastante de Guns N’ Roses e tenho um album algures. Perdi no entanto o interesse, provavelmente porque a banda acabou. Tenho a ideia de ter ouvido este tema antes, embora não me lembre se faz parte do album que tenho (não o consegui encontrar) mas sinceramente já não me lembrava, por isso tive de o ouvir novamente. Não há dúvida que o tema é muito bom, mas realmente e sem sombra de dúvidas, prefiro a versão de David, talvez porque não sou grande fã da voz de Axl Rose. Na verdade, este tema é um dos meus preferidos deste album.
When I was about 12 or 13 years old I remember enjoying Guns N’ Roses and I still have one of their albums somewhere. However I lost interest probably because the band ended. I think I’ve heard this song before, although I’m not sure if it was part of the album I have, I may have to find it and have a listen. This song is very good, but I prefer, without a doubt, David’s version, maybe it’s because I’m not a big fan of Alx Rose’s voice. Anyway, this song became one of my favourites out of this album.
Estes três últimos temas concluem os comentários do álbum “Music”. O álbum é fantástico e, na minha opinão, é o melhor de todos os álbuns que David lançou até ao momento. Não tenho muito mais a acrescentar, para além de que aconselho mesmo a ouvir, vai valer a pena! Consegue-se sentir que a música é tocada com o coração. Não são apenas simples notas e arranjos, é algo com emoção e alma e isso transparece. Há coisas que não podem ser expressas por palavras, simplesmente porque não lhes fariam justiça. Obrigada a todos os que leram este e os anteriores comentários, espero não ter aborrecido ninguém com eles.
This last set concludes the reviews of the “Music” album. In my opinion, this album is probably the best out of all the albums David released so far. I don’t have much more to say, other than I really recommend you to listen to it, it will be worth it! You can sense the music is played with the heart. It’s not just simple notes and arrangements, it’s something that has emotion and soul and it shines through.There are things that can not be expressed with words because they simply won’t do them justice.Thank you to everyone who read this and the previous reviews and I hope I didn’t bore anyone with them.

Este é o primeiro post mais pessoal que faço mas, hoje aconteceu uma coisa engraçada e acho que merece ser partilhada. Estava no trabalho e, passado um pouco apareceu uma colega e, durante a conversa, fiquei a saber que o dia não lhe tinha corrido muito bem. Tive de ir tratar de uns assuntos e quando voltei, não sei bem porquê, lembrei-me de lhe levar o meu MP4 para ela ouvir. A principio hesitei um pouco, mas como aquilo não me saía da cabeça lá fui. Perguntei-lhe se ela gostava de Beethoven, ao que ela respondeu que sim, deixei-a ouvir “Beethoven Scherzo”, mas não lhe disse de quem era. Ela gostou claro e depois passei para “We Will Rock You”, ao que ela me perguntou “O que é isto?! É tudo tocado com violino?” eu apenas lhe disse sim e para esperar um pouco, seguiu-se “Smooth Criminal” e “Smells Like Teen Spirit” e aí ela diz-me para não a torturar mais e para lhe dizer o que era, confesso que me desatei a rir por causa do entusiasmo que ela demonstrou, mas acabei por dizer que era David Garrett e, como eu já esperava ela não conhecia. Como não tinha muito tempo pois eu ia dar uma aula, terminei com “The 5th”, aqui ela rendeu-se completamente e disse-me “Eu não sei o que fizeste mas conseguiste acalmar-me” eu apenas lhe respondi que não tinha sido eu, por razões óbvias e ela continua “mas foste tu que me mostraste… esta música… onde é que descobriste isto? Convenceste-me”. Acabei por lhe dizer explicar um pouco do trabalho de David e onde poderia encontrar os CDs. Fiquei tão contente e ao mesmo tempo espantada por verificar, em primeira mão, o efeito que a música tinha tido nela pois ficou nitidamente mais bem disposta, até a sua própria postura mudou, foi impressionante e achei que devia partilhar esta pequena experiência. Eu sei o efeito que esta música tem em mim, mas ver noutra pessoa é simplesmente incrível.
This is the first personal post I write, but something happened today that should be shared. I was at work and a colleague of mine arrived. During our conversation she told me she’s was having a bad day. I had to leave for a few moments and when I got back I’m not sure why, I thought about letting her listen to what I have on my MP4. At first I was a bit hesitant but since that thought kept ringing in my mind I just went for it. I asked her if she liked Beethoven and she said she did, so I let her listen to “Beethoven Scherzo”, but I didn’t tell her who it was from. She, of course, liked it and I showed her “We Will Rock You”. At this point she asked me “What is this?! Is it all played with a violin?” I told her it was and to wait a little longer. Then I moved to “Smooth Criminal” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, she just said for me to stop torturing her and tell her what it was, I confess, I had to laugh because of her enthusiasm and I finally told her it was David Garrett and, as I expected, she didn’t know who he was. Since I didn’t have much time because I was going to give a class, I showed her one more “The 5th”. At this moment she was blown away and said to me “I don’t know what you did but you’ve managed to calm me down” I just said it wasn’t me, for obvious reasons, and she continued “no, but you showed it to me… this music… where did you find this? You convinced me!” I ended up telling her a bit about David’s work and where she could find the CDs. I was so happy and at the same time amazed to realize, first hand, the effect that his music had on her because she was visibly happier, even her posture changed. It was really amazing and I thought I should share this little experience. I know the effect this music has on me, but to see it on another person is absolutely incredible.

We Will Rock You Sou grande fã dos Queen e este tema é um dos meus favoritos. Já tive oportunidade de ouvir várias versões do mesmo, mas esta é a primeira vez (que me lembro) de ter ouvido uma versão instrumental. Simplesmente adoro! Se Freddy Mercury fosse um instrumento musical era assim que soaria, não sei se faz muito sentido, mas para mim o som do violino era a voz de Freddy, é simplesmente brilhante!
I am a big fan of Queen and this song is one of my favorites. I’ve heard several versions of it but this is the first time (that I remember) that I’ve heard an instrumental one. I just love it! If Freddy Mercury was a musical instrument that’s how it would sound, I’m not sure if that makes sense, but for me the violin was Freddy’s voice, it’s just brilliant!
Celtic Rondo Não consigo evitar sorrir e rir quando ouço este tema. Tem uma energia fantástica que me deixa feliz e com boa disposição e o mais interessante é que acontece sempre que o ouço… faz-me lembrar a felicidade inocente das crianças quando estão a brincar ao ar livre, simplesmente a correr, a dançar e a rir, sem qualquer tipo de preocupação.
I can’t help it but to smile and laugh with this piece. I think it has such a wonderful energy that makes me happy and in a good mood and the interesting thing is that it happens every time I listen to it… it reminds me of the innocent joy children have when they’re playing outdoors, just running, dancing and laughing, with no worries at all.
Ode To Joy Espectacular! É a melhor forma de descrever, absolutamente brilhante! Faz-me lembrar os espectáculos das duas melhores, na minha opinião, Escolas Equestres de Equitação Clássica da Europa, a Escola Portuguesa de Arte Equestre e a Escola Espanhola de Viena. Talvez seja por causa da música que costuma usar durante os espectáculos, ou talvez devido à sua tradição de Alta Escola Equestre e a música terem uma longa história. De qualquer das formas, penso que “Ode To Joy” acenta-lhes que nem uma luva. Não me importaria de ver um espectáculo ao som deste tema, na minha cabeça as duas coisas parecem e soam muito bem juntas!
Amazing! It’s how I would describe it, absolutely brilliant! It reminds me so much of performances from the 2 of the best, in my opinion, classic riding schools in europe, the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art in Portugal and The Spanish Riding School in Vienna. Maybe it’s just because of the music they use during their performances,or maybe it’s because their high school horsemanship tradition and the music have such long history, either way I think “Ode To Joy” fits them like a glove. I wouldn’t mind seeing their performances to the tune of this piece, in my head they look and sound great together!
