Não há muito tempo sugeri a uma amiga, que é directora de uma escola, fazer algo de especial com o CD “Rock Symphonies” que, aparentemente já não sai da aparelhagem dela, de tal forma que receio que o gaste de tanto ouvir.
A minha amiga aproveitou o início das aulas logo depois do Natal e, consequentemente o início de um novo ano, para fazer a primeira experiência.
Pelas próprias palavras dela, eis o que aconteceu:
“Preparei este reinício de período letivo, celebrando a alegria e a vida. Assim, consoante iam chegando à escola eram envolvidos por uma sonoridade musical de inegável qualidade. Esta melodia espalhava-se ao longo dos corredores, do átrio de entrada e de salas de aula. O espanto, a surpresa e posterior alegria, evidenciava-se nos rostos dos professores, dos alunos e dos encarregados de educação. Espelhavam, para além da surpresa, a magia que este músico perpassa com a sua mestria em acordes melodiosos. As manifestações dos mais crescidos traduziram-se desde a forma sincera do desconhecimento do artista, mas no agrado da musicalidade, até um conhecimento abalizado sobre o mesmo. Quanto aos alunos, primeiro o espanto e a surpresa e depois o manifestar de agrado. Que sim, aquela era uma música gira! Apetecia dançar! E ensaiaram alguns passos. Alguns perderam a vergonha e abeiraram-se da entrada do meu gabinete. Outros, timidamente sorriram e continuaram para as suas salas. Questionavam com os olhares, com palavras e com expressão corporal. Que estava a acontecer…”
Confesso que as reacções das pessoas perante a música de David me fascinam cada vez mais… compreendo-as perfeitamente, pois a minha reacção foi muito semelhante quando ouvi a primeira vez. Acrescento ainda que a faixa etária dos alunos varia entre os 6 e os 9 anos de idade.
Infelizmente não posso publicar as fotos desse dia por questões de segurança das crianças, mas espero que as anteriores palavras possam dar uma ideia do que se passou nesse dia.

Not long ago I suggested to a friend of mine, who is a school director, to do something special with the album “Rock Symphonies”, which doesn’t seem to get out of her stereo at all that I fear she might wear it out.
My friend saw her chance to do her first musical experience right after Christmas, when the new school term started.
In her own words, here’s what happened:
“I wanted to start this new school term by celebrating joy and life. So, when the students and teacher started to arrive at school, they were greeted by an undeniably high music. This music carried along the hallways and classrooms entrances. The surprise followed by joy was evident on the faces of everyone, teachers, students and parents alike. They were not only surprised by the beautiful music, they were also taken in by the magic that this musician weaves whenever he plays. The adults comments varied from the complete ignorance of who the artist was, to the recognition of the song that was being played although they didn’t know who was playing it, but even so the enjoyment was very evident from the look of their faces.
As for the students, first came the astonishment, then the surprise and finally the verbal and physical manifestation of their enjoyment – “That music is cool!”, “Makes us want to dancing” and some did dance. Some of them even lost their inhibition and ventured near my office entrance, others were a little more shy and carried on to their classrooms wondering what was going on…”
I confess that I’m fascinated more and more people’s reactions to David’s music… I understand them perfectly, because my reaction was very similar when I heard it for the first time. I also want to add that the students ages were between 6 and 9 years old.
Unfortunately I can’t publish any photos for security reasons, but I hope the words above can give you an idea of what happened that day.

Já há algum tempo que estava para publicar um artigo sobre o perfume “Rock Symphonies” mas como têm surgido outros assuntos, este acabou por ser esquecido. O perfume já existe desde 2010, altura em que o álbum com o mesmo nome foi lançado. Está disponível para homem e senhora nos tamanhos 30ml e 50ml e tem ainda o gel de banho correspondente, no tamanho 150ml. Infelizmente só encontrei à venda na Amazon.de.
Em baixo estão algumas fotos do perfume e dois vídeos que penso que sejam do lançamento do perfume. Infelizmente os videos são falados em Alemão.
I’ve been wanting to post something about the perfume “Rock Symphonies” for quite some time now, but since other matters showed up in between, this one ended up being forgotten. This perfume was launched in 2010, when the album with same name was released. It’s available in 30ml and 50ml and you can also get the 150ml shower gel, both for man and woman. Unfortunately I just could find it on Amazon.de.
Below there’re a few pics of the perfume and two videos of what I think it’s the perfume launch. Unfortunately the videos are German spoken.

Music: Live In Concert – DVD
Tal como nos outros comentários que escrevi acerca do álbum “Music”, não pretendo avaliar a música e muito menos a técnica de David Garrett, nunca me atreveria a fazer isso. Vou apenas dar a minha opinião sobre o DVD, mas obviamente não irei comentar tema a tema, pois a maioria já foi comentado nos “reviews” anteriores.
Começando pela parte simples e mais técnica. O DVD tem alguns bónus: video “Viva La Vida”, “Making Of” do vídeo “Viva La Vida”, “Comentário” de cada um dos temas falado em Inglês e Alemão, “Mini – Documentário” do álbum “Music” em Inglês e Alemão. Tem também a grande vantagem de ter legendas em Inglês, Francês, Alemão, Espanhol e Português, ao contrário dos anteriores DVD’s que não tinha legendas ou então apenas em inglês.
Passando agora ao espectáculo propriamente dito, é absolutamente a não perder! Para quem já teve a sorte de assistir a um concerto ao vivo, tenho a certeza que poderá recordar esses momentos. Para quem infelizmente não teve ainda a oportunidade de assistir a nenhum concerto, poderá ficar um uma ideia de como são. Garanto-vos que a vontade de assistir a um espectáculo ao vivo é ainda maior!
A maioria dos temas são do novo álbum “Music”, mas tem alguns dos álbuns anteriores, tais como “Live & Let Die” e “Kashmir”. Tem também alguns dos temas que não fazem parte de nenhum album, o que é uma pena, entre os quais “Palladio” ou “Thank You, For Loving Me” (Bon Jovi), o que é uma pena pois este tema em particular é simplesmente lindo. Foi com este tema que David agradeceu a todos aqueles que trabalham com ele e que o apoiam. A primeira vez que vi e ouvi as lágrimas cairam cara a baixo, pois a emoção que passou através da música foi… não há palavras… Isto é só um pequeno exemplo de como a sua música pode tocar a alma.
Na verdade, o espectáculo inteiro transmite uma variedade de emoções que deixo à interpretação de cada um. Como já disse antes, há coisas que não se conseguem exprimir por palavras, só podem ser sentidas. Acreditem, pois aconteceu comigo. Tenho a certeza que, se virem e ouvirem com atenção vão perceber o que quero dizer…
Music: Live In Concert – DVD
As in the other reviews I wrote about the “Music” album, I’m not going to evaluate David’s music or technique, I don’t dare doing that. This review is just my personal opinion about the “Music” DVD and I won’t be commenting each track because most of them I already reviewed on the previous reviews.
Now, starting with the easy and more technical part. The DVD has a few bonus, such as: the “Viva La Vida” music video, The “Making Of” of the “Viva La Vida” music video, “Comment” of each track of the “Music” album spoken in English and German and “Mini- Documentary” about the album “Music” also in English and German. This DVD has the advantage of having subtitles, in different languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese, unlike the previous ones, that either didn’t have subtitles at all or they just had english ones.
Moving on to the show itself, it’s absolutely a must watch! For those of you who were lucky enough to attend a live show, I’m sure you’ll be able to remember those moments. For those who unfortunately hadn’t had a chance to watch a concert, the DVD will give you an idea of what it’s like. I assure you that you’ll want to attend one even more!
Most of the tracks are from the “Music” album, but it has also some from the previous ones, just like “Live & Let Die” and “Kashmir”. There are also some songs that aren’t on any album, which is a shame, such as “Palladio” and “Thank You, For Loving Me” (Bon Jovi) which is a shame because this particular song is simply beautiful. It is the song that David uses to thank everyone who works with him and everyone that support him and the way he plays it, you can feel the emotion coming through. The first time I saw this tears ran down my face, the emotion that came through me was …simply overwhelming … This is just a small example of how his music touches the soul.
Truth be told, the entire show passes on a variety of emotions that I shall leave to everyone’s own interpretation. As I said before, there are certain things that words cannot express, they need to be felt. Believe me, it happened to me. I’m sure that, if you pay attention when watching the showand listen carefully to the music, you’ll understand what I mean…
